Through the California
Paraoptometric Section Resource Library, and the support of Vision
West, Inc. (VWI), CPS offers materials on loan, to help you gain
better access to educational textbook materials that may otherwise
be too expensive to purchase. Fitting in with its mission of promoting
education, professionalism and fellowship, CPS offers the lending
library as an opportunity for you to become more educated in the
field of paraoptometry. We hope you will continue to add value to
the optometric practices you support.
Borrowing Privileges
Individuals may borrow materials for up to two weeks. Grace periods
are included for shipping.
A limit of two separate items may be borrowed at one time.
To borrow materials from the CPS Resource Library, complete the
request form indicating the books you are interested in. Credit
card deposit information, for members and non-members, must be provided
prior to borrowing materials. The deposit information will be held
for the complete duration of the material borrowing time. If the
materials become damaged or lost, the credit card will be charged
for the amount to replace the materials or for any accrued late
fees.
The subscription fee to access materials from the library, is as
follows:
CPS Member:
$0 (member benefit)
|
Non-member:
$35 annual subscription fee
|
The subscription fee offers you access to the lending library and
covers a period of twelve months. It must be paid at the time you
first submit a request to borrow materials and is non-refundable.
Renewals
Unless an item is reserved, the loan request may be renewed
up to three times. To renew your loan period, please contact the
librarian at paraoptometricsection@coavision.org
or call (800) 877-5738 ext. 238.
Returning Materials
Inside the front cover, you will find a card with the shipping
date and the date the item should be returned to the library. The
library will pay for shipping to you, but you will be responsible
for the costs of mailing the materials back to the library.
A return-shipping label will be provided in the package for you
to use when you are ready to return the item. You can use the same
packaging with the return label.
The library has accounted for grace periods in the shipping time.
However, materials must be postmarked by the return date in order
to qualify for items being returned "on time."
Damaged or Lost Materials
Library staff will charge fines for books returned in damaged
condition. If any materials are lost or misplaced, the borrower
will be responsible for the full replacement cost of the materials.
Overdue Materials
If materials are not postmarked by the return date, a late
fee of $1.00 a day will be charged for each item borrowed. Unpaid
fees of $10 or more will result in suspension of borrowing privileges.
